What is Rotational Balance?

He rotational equilibrium is one that is generated when a body is going through a rotation or a rotation. This phenomenon occurs when the torques exerted by the forces acting on the body are null.

That is, when the sum of all torques is equal to zero. These types of equilibria occur when the body does not undergo any variation during the movement of rotation exerted on it.

The elements of rotation taken into account when expressing this phenomenon in mathematics are the force, represented by an"F", the arm, represented by a"b"and the axis in which the rotation occurs.

Classes of equilibria

Like all phenomena, there are different ways in which it can be produced, and different characteristics that will allow us to analyze certain types of processes. In the case of rotational equilibrium, there are three kinds of equilibrium to define it.

Stable balance

The balance of a body is stable when the body is suspended and its center of gravity is below its point of suspension.

On the other hand, when the body is supported, the stability of the balance will be noticed when the vertical that crosses the center of gravity is inside the suspension base.

Unstable equilibrium

The balance of a body is stable when the body is suspended and its center of gravity is above its point of suspension.

In the same way, when the body is supported, the stability of the balance will be noticed when the vertical that crosses the center of gravity passes through the limit of the suspension base.

Indifferent balance

The balance of a body is stable when said body is suspended and its center of gravity coincides with both points of suspension.

On the other hand, when the body is supported, the stability of the balance will be noticed when the vertical that crosses the center of gravity always passes through the suspension base.

Factors of rotational equilibrium

In order to present a rotational equilibrium, the existence of certain factors is necessary:

Moment of strength

The force moment is a magnitude that is reached thanks to the vector product of the position vector where the force is applied by the force vector. This factor is also known as Torque, by its English name torque.

Pair of forces

The pair of forces is a system created with two parallel forces that have the same intensity, but are in the opposite direction. When applying said force, a rotation movement is general.

Gravity center

The center of gravity is considered the point of application of the union of all gravity forces acting on a body.

This center of gravity does not correspond to a material point necessarily and it can be said that it is the point where the forces exerted by gravity are null.

Static balance

The static balance is that which occurs when all the forces acting on a body are balanced. This means that it is that which occurs when a body is completely still and stable.

Vector

The vectors are a magnitude that are divided into modules and directions.
