What are the Elements of the Movement?

The Elements of movement they allow you to have a clear and precise definition of what movement is and how it works, not only in general but in the world of physics in particular.

To begin it is necessary to know the concept of movement, in order to understand the function of its elements.

What are the Elements of the Movement?

The movement in physical is the change of position of an object or body, taking into consideration a specific reference point and time. If the object has not changed its position, it is said to be at rest.

Main elements of the movement

Acceleration

Acceleration is considered a vectorial magnitude. Thanks to it, the variation of the speed per unit of time can be calculated. The unit that represents it in the International System is m / s2 (meter per square second) .

The acceleration can be divided into several movements, but the two most used are the uniform circular motion and the accelerated rectilinear motion:

- Uniform circular motion : is where the object to study travels a circular path following a constant speed.

- Accelerated Rectilinear Motion : is when the object travels a straight path and its acceleration remains constant. A clear example of this movement is the free fall, where the constant acceleration corresponds to that of gravity.

Initial and final position

They are the points where the path traveled by a body or object begins and ends.

Speed

The speed can be defined as the relationship between the distance traveled by a body in motion and the time spent making the journey.

The term Speed it can be easily confused with the term Speed . Although it is true that in the vocabulary of science can be used as synonyms, each has a somewhat different definition.

The most notable difference would be the fact that the Speed It has a vector character while the Speed it is the module of that magnitude.

Weather

It is a magnitude with which the duration of the movement is measured.

Trajectory

It can be defined as the set of points in a straight line or curve that runs through a body or object at the moment of making a movement.

Vector scroll

The displacement vector is one that defines the position of the object from point A to point B.

The displacement vector takes into account only the initial position and the final position of the object, it is not important the path of the same when calculating said vector.

Speed

The velocity is a vector character that expresses the distance traveled by an object in a determined unit of time.

To define it, the direction of the displacement and the module (speed) is necessary. Its unit in the International System is the symbol m / s (meter per second).

There are several types of speed:

- Average speed : it is the change of position in a specific time interval.

- Instant speed : it is the tangent to the trajectory.

- Average speed : is the average of the final and initial velocity where a constant acceleration is included.
