Think and Grow Rich (Summary)

Today I will summarize what I consider a great book; Think and become rich , One of the most read in the world and especially by the enterprising people. I hope you have read it already, and if not, I encourage you to be an entrepreneur or not, an entrepreneur or an employee.

I bought it one day I was waiting at Managua airport. It was cheap (I think 10 dollars) and had nothing to do during the flight, so I took it. I had not heard or read it before, so the title sounded like it sold to me.

I thought it would be based on simply the magic of thinking, simply wanting it, you can become rich. However, I later realized that many of his teachings are very valuable and can result in major changes.

Think and become rich

If you are interested in reading it in full, you can do it Carry here .

One of its central theses is that, in order to achieve a goal, one must desire it with great force, but also emphasizes the need to make a commitment, to act and to persevere despite failures.

Like"How to make friends and influence others,"is a classic read by millions of people and great value.

To write the book, its author, Napoleon Hill , Investigated and analyzed the"signs of success"of some of the richest people of his time such as Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, Theodore Roosevelt, Elbert Hubbard, Thomas A. Edison, Graham Bell, Edwin C. Barnes and many more.

The main idea is that from the secret of the great rich is how any person can get to have the same riches. Who knows if the author of the million-selling"The Secret"was inspired by Napoleon Hill. No doubt it seems, although the book that I dedicate today has nothing to do and I assure you that they will teach you much more than anyone who is left alone that the magic of thought will make you have what you want.

I start with the summary. I will introduce you to the most important ideas you can take, although I advise you to read the book at least once. In addition, if you are an entrepreneur, you will be very simple and pleasant.

1.- Thoughts are things

Everything that the human mind can conceive and believe can be achieved.

Thoughts are things when they combine with the accuracy of purpose, perspective, and an imperious desire to turn them into wealth, or other material objects.

An intangible impulse can be transmuted into material gains by the application of known principles.

The answer that perhaps you are looking for the questions that have made you reflect on the mysteries of life, you can find it in yourself, through some idea, plan or purpose that may arise in your brain.

You will note that wealth begins from a state of mind, with a definite purpose.

One of the greatest weaknesses of the human species is the typical familiarity of man with the word impossible.

Our brain is magnetized by the dominant thoughts that we carry in our minds, and by mechanisms that no one knows well, these magnets attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life that harmonize with the nature of our dominant thoughts.

Before we can accumulate riches in abundance, we must magnetize our minds with an intense desire for wealth, we must become aware of wealth until the desire for money leads us to make definite plans to acquire it.

2 The desire. The starting point of all achievement

There are no limitations to the mind except those we accept. Poverty and wealth are the offspring of thought.

Every person who wins in any company must be willing to burn their ships and eliminate all possibilities of turning back. Only then can you be assured of maintaining that mental state known as the burning desire to win, essential to success.

Every human being who reaches the age of understanding the raison d'être of money wants money. Loving him is not enough to accumulate wealth. But to desire wealth with a state of mind that becomes an obsession, and then to plan forms and means defined to acquire it, and to execute those plans with a perseverance that does not accept failure, will attract wealth.

Method for converting desire into its monetary equivalent:

  • Determine the exact amount of money you want.
  • Determine what you propose to give in return.
  • Establish a plan.
  • Write a statement with: amount of money to get, time limit, what will be given in exchange and description of the plan.
  • Read the statement twice a day.

One must realize that all who have accumulated great fortunes have first dreamed, desired, longed, thought out and planned before having acquired money.

There is a quality that one must possess to win, and it is the definition of purpose, the exact knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it. Carry out your dreams and ignore what others might say if you run into difficulties at any time.

The state of mind must be conviction, not mere hope or longing. The open mind is essential to believe.

3.-Faith.

The emotions of faith and love are the most powerful among the main positive emotions. It is essential that you stimulate your positive emotions as the dominant forces of your mind, and take away and eliminate negative emotions.

The battles of life do not always favor the stronger or faster man, but sooner or later the man who thinks he can.

Wealth starts from an idea, quantity is limited only by the person in whose mind that idea is set in motion. Faith removes those limitations.

4.-The autosuggestion

Every adversity, every failure and every anguish carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.

Through the dominant thoughts one allows to remain in the conscious mind, the principle of autosuggestion voluntarily reaches the subconscious and influences through them in those thoughts.

Indifferent words, recited without emotion, do not influence the subconscious. You will not get appreciable results until you learn to reach your subconscious with thoughts or spoken words that have been charged with the emotion of conviction.

When visualizing the money that you intend to accumulate, see yourself providing the service, or providing the merchandise you intend to give in exchange for your money.

The transmutation of desire into money entails the use of autosuggestion as an agent through which one can attain and influence the unconscious.

5.-Specialized knowledge

Knowledge will not attract money unless it is organized and intelligently directed through practical action plans for the precise purpose of accumulating money.

An educated man is not someone who has an abundance of general or specialized knowledge. An educated man is one who has cultivated the faculties of his mind in such a way that he can acquire whatever he proposes without violating the rights of others.

The accumulation of great fortunes requires power, and this is acquired through specialized knowledge, intelligently directed and organized, but this knowledge need not be in the possession of the person who accumulates wealth.

Capacity involves imagination, a quality necessary to combine expertise with ideas in the form of organized plans, designed to achieve wealth.

6.-The imagination

Ideas are intangible forces, but they have more power than the physical brain where they are born.

Imagination is the workshop where all the plans created by man are embodied. The impulse, the desire, are given shape, profile and action through the help of the imaginative faculty of mind.

Ideas are the starting point of all fortunes. Ideas are products of the imagination.

Wealth, when it appears in large numbers, is never just as a result of hard work. When it appears, wealth is the result of defined requirements, based on the application of defined plans, and is never due to surrender or chance.

7.-Organized planning

Success requires no explanation, failure has no excuse.

If the first plan you adopt does not work successfully, replace it with a new one; If this new plan does not work either, change it again for another, and so on until you find a plan that works.

A temporary failure is not the same as a permanent failure. A failure indicates only that the plans were not good. Make others.

You have to know your own weaknesses in order to overcome them or eliminate them completely. You must know your strength so that you can draw attention to it when you sell your services.

Without a brain to control it, money is always dangerous. If used properly, it is the most important essential element of civilization.

There is only one sure method of accumulating wealth and clinging to it, and that method is to render useful services and continue to create fictitious needs.

8.-Decision

People who fail to accumulate money have, without exception, the habit of making decisions, if they take them very slowly, and change those same decisions quickly and often.

If you let yourself be influenced by opinions when it comes to making decisions, you will not succeed in any company, much less in transforming your own desire into money.

Those who make decisions quickly and definitively know very well what they want, in general they get it.

9.-Perseverance

Perseverance is an essential factor in the process of transforming desire into its monetary equivalent. The foundation of perseverance is willpower.

They are the people whose desires are applied in a persevering way, that defeat turns into victory.

People refuse to take risks in business because they fear the criticism they would make if they failed. In such cases, the fear of criticism is much stronger than the desire to succeed.

The only chance that can be trusted is that which one has managed to carve himself. And this is achieved through the application of perseverance.

10.-The Power of Teamwork

Happiness lies in doing, not just possessing.

No individual will have great power without having the work team at his disposal. Anyone will be able to obtain economic advantages surrounded by the advice, advice and cooperation of a group of people ready to give them honest help, in a spirit of perfect harmony.

11.-The Mystery of Transmutation

Sexual desire is the most powerful of human desires. When men are driven by him, they develop a sharpness of imagination, courage, willpower, perseverance, and creative ability unknown to them at other times.

Men who have accumulated great fortunes and achieved outstanding recognition in literature, art, industry, architecture and professions, were motivated by the influence of a woman.

Sexuality is the creative energy of all geniuses. There has never been, and will not be, a great leader, builder, or artist who lacks that driving force of sex.

12. The subconscious

Anyone can desire riches, and most people want them, but only a few know that the only reliable means of accumulating wealth is through a definite plan, in addition to a burning desire to attain wealth.

The subconscious is more likely to be influenced by thought impulses when they are mixed with a feeling or an emotion than when they originate only in the reasoning part of the mind.

Our responsibility is to make sure that positive emotions are the dominant influence of our mind. Get into the habit of applying and using negative emotions.

13.-The brain

The ladder of success is never crowded at the top.

Sometimes men speak lightly of the intangible, of the things they can not perceive through any of their five senses, and when we hear them speak, we must remember that all of us are controlled by forces that are invisible and intangible.

When the brain works at a rapid rate, it not only attracts thoughts and ideas emitted by other brains, but gives the thoughts themselves the same feeling, which is essential for the subconscious to grasp the thoughts and act upon them.

14. The sixth sense

The understanding of what the sixth sense is only achieved through meditation and mental development from within. With your help, you will be warned of any imminent danger with enough time to avoid it, and you will be notified of the opportunities well in advance to take advantage of them.

15. The six ghosts of fear

There are six basic fears, of which every human being suffers at one time or another, either for each of them or in a combination of them: poverty, criticism, illness, loss of love , To old age, to death.

Fears are just states of mind. The state of the mind of which it is subject to control and direction.

Mind control is the result of self-discipline and habit. Either you control your mind, or it controls you. The most practical method of controlling one's mind is the habit of keeping it occupied for a definite purpose, supported by a definite plan.
