Personal life

Tanya was born on February 22, 1976 in Bolivia. In the 90's he decided to move to the United States to develop his career as a model. Little is known of his beginnings and his previous life to become a model.

In 1999, Callau met Alan Thicke in Miami, at an event where he was a presenter and model. Before meeting Callau, Alan Thicke was married twice and was even involved with actress Kristy Swanson at one point.

From 1970 to 1984, Thicke was married to actress Gloria Loring. Later it contracted marriage with Miss World 1990, Ginna Tolleson and they were married for 5 years until Thicke knew Callau the same year of its divorce.

In their first two marriages, Thicke had three children, Robin and Brennan de Loring and Carter de Tolleson. Robin is one of those who has achieved more fame as a singer and is known for songs like"Blurred Lines"and"Lost Without You".

In April 2005, after almost six years of being together as a couple, Thicke decided to propose to Callau. It was only weeks after they announced the announcement that the wedding would take place.

The ceremony took place in Cabo San Lucas (Mexico) with Callau 30 years old and Thicke 58. Thicke's son Carter was in charge of bringing the rings to the altar. "Alan made all my dreams come true. I'm a very happy bride"said the bride at the time.

Alan and Tanya became grandparents for the first time when their eldest son, Brennan had his first son, Tyler, with his wife Kathleen.

On December 13, 2016, Alan Thicke had a heart attack while playing hockey with his son Carter. He was immediately transported to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at the age of 69. In a statement on the Callau incident stated the following:

"With deep sadness and incredible pain I want to thank everyone, from the bottom of my heart, for the spill of love and support during this unimaginable moment. With tears and smiles our dear family and friends have come to our home to celebrate the life of my dear and devoted husband Alan Thicke. Yesterday, together with my stepchildren and our whole family combined, we left our beloved husband, soul mate and patriarch of our family to rest."

Callau, along with Thicke, were actively involved in charitable causes for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. After the death of her husband, she has asked for donations in Alan's memory to benefit that foundation, since"it was a cause for which he cared enough."

Tanya's name was swept by controversy when her mother, known as Ruth Miriam Callau, was arrested in 2013 after being accused of paying one of her employees for murdering her husband Petrus Dekker.

In September 2016, Ruth was dismissed and the man responsible, known as Richard Terrazas, was sentenced to 30 years in prison while Ruth was declared innocent.

Dekker was reported missing ten days before he was found injured with four bullet wounds in the Santa Cruz region of eastern Bolivia.

Career

Callau and Thicke appeared on several reality shows in addition to their own, which was titled"Unusually Thicke". The official description of the show says:

"Alan Thicke is best known for playing the husband and father in the classic comedy"Growing Pains,"but he also does the same roles in real life with his much-loved wife Young Tanya and her stubborn teenage son Carter by his side."

Thicke said that while the show is about their lives, it is a mixture of comedy since many of the situations are written and planned in advance. In an interview for Global News In Canada, Thicke said:

"We knew what was going to happen, since we were telling stories as a sitcom. It's based on our lives, but we knew where we were going." To this Tanya added:"we are acting ourselves."

Tanya's desire to have a child was one of the recurring themes in reality. In this regard Thicke responded as follows:"While we sit here, this is an unresolved issue. Tanya deserves to have children, but you have to deal with reality. Do you really want to be changing two sets of diapers each day?"

Another of the situations that arise in the series is the arrest of Tanya's mother, to which the couple said:"We have had to face very serious situations in our lives during the last year."

Thicke and Callau also appeared in Family Feud Y Celebrity Wife Swap (Couple Exchange), in which Thicke changed wife with the comedian Gilbert Gottfried. Callau's short acting career included an appearance in 2004 as Tanya in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement .
