Sebastian Michaelis: History, Forms and Phrases

Sebastian Michaelis o Sebasuchan Mikaerisu is one of the main characters in manga and anime Kuroshitsuji ( Black Butler ). Michaelis is the butler and faithful servant of the protagonist, Ciel Phantomhive, who is a 13 year old boy who is responsible for solving mysteries of all kinds according to the requests of Queen Victoria of England.

While Sabastian also accompanies and helps resolve the cases entrusted to Ciel, he is also obliged to serve and obey him until the boy gets revenge and manages to find the people who destroyed the honor of his family.

It should be noted that this obligation on the part of Sebastian is due to a contract (represented by a symbol he has in one of his hands), established with Ciel, so that he has to be with him regardless of the occasion. He is described as an extravagant, refined and with a particular taste for cats.

History

There are no precise data of the moment of its appearance, but it is estimated that its place of origin is hell, from where it came in the form of a demon. Demons feed on human souls to survive, and if they come to establish a"contract"with a human, they are in the capacity to possess the weapon of their counterpart.

As for age, Sebastian himself states that he is a hundred years old, which has allowed him to know and participate in important historical events. So much so, that if you compare your life with Ciel's, that of the latter would represent an instant in your entire existence.

Relationship with Ciel Phantomhive

It is important to note that the reasons for the relationship of both characters vary both in the manga and in the anime:

- As for the manga, the reason for the meeting of both characters is due to the invocation of Ciel, who wants to know who were the killers of his twin brother, used as a sacrifice in a ritual. In this way, both have the symbol of the contract that they establish: Ciel in the right eye and Sebastian in one of his hands.

-In the anime Ciel lost his parents is a massive fire. As a desire to meet the real culprits, he establishes a contract with Sebastian to avenge his family in exchange for his soul.

Established the contract, Sebastian looks for a way to serve his new master in a convenient role for him, and is when he becomes his steward and bodyguard in all the adventures and mysteries that are presented throughout the plot.

In exchange for service and obedience, Sebastian will receive the soul of Ciel at the time of his death. As long as this does not happen, everything possible will be done to protect the boy from the dangers that lie in wait for him.

Character characteristics

-Although your mission is to protect Ciel, sometimes it involves you in some challenges.

-It is extremely skilled in almost everything he does, no matter how difficult it is.

-The brand that you have in your hand, which also acts as a kind of special bond with Ciel, also serves to locate your master no matter where you are.

- In its human form it is refined and with a great wealth of vocabulary.

-He has a predilection (and even adoration) for cats, while he despises dogs for being these beings extremely loyal to humans.

-In the manga, when he is summoned, he appears in his demon form. Instead, in the anime appears as a crow surrounded by black feathers.

-In the first season of the anime Sebastian indicates that he met an ancient mummy called Semenejkara. Likewise, the appearance of the black plague was attributed during the Middle Ages.

- His name, Sebastian Michaelis, could be considered a historical reference to Sébastien Michaëlis, a French priest who named and classified all demons.

-In the anime is the first demon to appear, while in the manga is the only one.

-Despreciate the shinigami (gods of death).

-Part the contract mark on his left hand because, in general, it is associated with the side of sin.

-Although you do not have an exact date of his birth, according to his relationship with the mummy Semenejkara (as well as other confessions) is believed to be more than 3 thousand years old.

-Ciel names him"Sebastian"because that's what his dog was called, which can be interpreted as his steward does not matter too much to him.

Form (demonic and true)

Human

According to his human form, Sebastian is between 25 and 30 years old, he measures 1.90 m, his hair is black cut with bangs and his eyes are red. Because he is Ciel's steward, he is always dressed in a tuxedo.

When removing the glove from the left hand, you can see the contract mark and its black nails.

Demon

It is not awarded a specific form; however, there are certain characteristic elements such as feline-shaped fuchsia eyes, high-heeled shoes (needle-like), sharp claws and pronounced fangs.

Also, you can change your appearance to whatever you want, extending this power to another part of your body.

In this way he is extremely rude, sadistic, manipulative and curious about humans, since he sees great greed in them.
