Gloria Loring-Lagler , Born Gloria Jean Goff, is an American singer, actress and writer. She is best known for playing the role of Liz Chandler in the telenovela Days of Our Lives during 5 years.

Personal life
Gloria was born on December 12, 1946, in the city of New York in the United States. She is the daughter of singer Dorothy Ann and Gerald"Buzzy"Lewis Goff, a professional trumpet player for bands like the Tommy Dorsey Big Band.
Loring has been married three times. In 1970, it contracted marriage with the star of television Alan Thicke and of this union were born two children, Brennan and Robin. By 1983, the couple decided to divorce. She was also married to actor Christopher Beaumont from 1988 to 1993. She currently resides in California along with her husband Rene Lagler, a production designer with whom she married in 1994.
In 2016, following the death of his ex-wife Alan Thicke due to a heart attack, Loring said through one of his social networks:"Thank you for your kind concern for the death of Alan Thicke. This is a shock. We were all together for Thanksgiving. He was talented, funny and deeply devoted to his family. Rest in peace, my dear."
In 2012 Loring published his autobiography Coincidence is God's Way of Remaining Anonymous ( Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous ). In his book he discusses his decision to end his relationship with Thicke, as well as his relationship with actor Don Diamont.
Regarding her book, she talked about the message left by the book:"I want the readers to know that there is goodness in the world with which there is always a bond. It is theirs to have it if they seek it. This is the point: the more we look for good, the studies show that we are happier and bring more benefits to the people around us."
When her son Brennan was diagnosed with diabetes, Loring created and published the book The Days of Our Lives Celebrity Cookbook , As a way to raise funds for the JDFI (International Foundation for Juvenile Diabetes). Both volumes of the book, along with the album A Shot in the Dark , Raised more than $ 1 million for diabetes research.
Loring is also the author of The Kids, Food, and Diabetes Family Cookbook (The family cookbook for children, food and diabetes) and Parenting a Diabetic Child (Raising a diabetic child).
Gloria has been honored by the JDFI with the Lifetime Commitment Award and the Founders Award of the National Disease Research Interchange. The Miss America organization has won the Woman of Achievement Award, which she and other winners like Barbara Bush, Roslyn Carter and Hillary Clinton share.
Career
Loring began singing professionally at the age of 14 with the folk group Those four . At the age of 18 he sang at the Playboy Club in New York and his presentation was heard on radio, which quickly opened spaces on television.
His first major performance in The Merv Griffin Show It paved the way for hundreds of appearances on interview shows and varieties like The Tonight Show , The Ed Sullivan Show Y The Carol Burnett Show , As well as the Emmy Awards and the Academy Awards.
Loring is also a songwriter who has co-written the presentation themes for shows like Diff'rent Strokes Y Facts of Life . In 1980, Loring was cast as Liz Chandler on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives . This was his first role of performance and that it would last a little more than five years.
Loring's latest album called Turn the Page Is the result of four years of composition and recording in studio. It is composed of 13 songs with a tribute to the song Fixing a Hole By John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
Over the years, Loring has shared the stage with artists such as Bill Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Al Jarreau, The Point Sisters and Mel Torme. He has made presentations throughout North America, Europe and Australia.
Loring has also made his foray into the theater. He was part of productions like Blame it on the Movies , the comedy Queen of the Soaps , Which won a DramaLogue Award in Los Angeles and production in San Francisco Star Dust , Directed by Henry LeTang. He has also presented the television series From the Heart .
