The flora and fauna of Nuevo León , Mexican state, varies with the different altitudes found in the region. The state has forests, bushes and pastures.

5- Chilacayote

2- Woodpecker

It is a bird that has strong peaks to drill the trees. It has the ability to peck 20 times per second and 12,000 times a day.

It feeds on worms, larvae and insects that it finds and extracts from trees.

3- Wildcat

It is a small feline and is the wild ancestor of domestic cats.

The wildcat lives in forests and places far from the urban centers. It can also live in dense thickets that offer sufficient coverage.

4- Desert tortoise

It is a species of turtle that is found in the bushes of Nuevo León. It reaches a length of about 25 to 36 cm.

The males are slightly larger than the females. They can grow to a height of about 10 to 15 cm. The weight of these adult turtles is between 4 to 7 kg.

5- Cacomixtle

The cacomixtle is a mammal that is found in the forests of the state. It has yellowish gray and dark brown fur.

The big eyes it has and purple are striking. It is smaller in size than a domestic cat.

He is an agile climber. Its tail helps it maintain its balance to travel along narrow edges and overhanging rocks.
